Since 2012, New York Symphonic Brass has performed my music annually. The ensemble brings together players from the Metropolitan Opera and other leading New York orchestras. In 2026, I will premiere my first new work for the group in eleven years.

Sunny's Bar Miniature

A miniature tribute to Sunny’s Bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn, a place where I have performed, exhibited art, and worked for more than a decade. Created to celebrate a place central to my life in New York, the piece is currently available for purchase.

Visual Art | Large Work

Paper, acrylic, modeling paste, and foam board

A large-scale wall relief inspired by New York City’s density and limited space. Built from countless architectural forms and shifting viewpoints, the work draws on Cubist ideas of perspective to imagine a city that can be seen from many angles at once.

An ongoing series of handmade miniature works that began with imaginary architecture and has gradually expanded into many different forms. These small constructions explore memory, place, humor, and the strange beauty of everyday objects through a playful architectural language.

The Adventures of Pinpi and Danda

Music Education | Piano

A beginner piano method built around original music, characters, and storytelling. Designed to make the fundamentals of piano approachable for children and adults, the book was first published in 2015. A newly revised edition is now in development for publication in 2027.

Boston Cello Quartet

Composition | Collaboration | Chamber

From 2011 to 2013, I wrote three works for the Boston Cello Quartet, made up of musicians from the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Waltz of the Black Ants was recorded on their 2013 debut album Pictures and premiered at Tanglewood.

Country and Blues

Visual Art | Mural

My first solo exhibition, presented at Sunny’s Bar in 2018. The centerpiece was a 50-foot mural inspired by the musicians and atmosphere of Sunny’s, transforming the bar into a continuous visual landscape for nearly two months.

Created for my 2022 solo exhibition Heart Needs Home, Duo marked a new direction in my visual work, focusing more directly on abstraction, shape, balance, and color. It became part of a broader exploration of how simple forms can carry memory and emotion.

Experimental Music | Open Form

Developed during my 2024 artist residency in Norway, Circle Score is an experimental system of circular notation. Performers can enter the score at different points, shaping their own path through the music. New Circle Score projects are now developing in New York.

US Open Ceremony

Music Arrangement | Collaboration

In 2023, I co-arranged America the Beautiful and Lift Every Voice and Sing with John Sheppard for the US Open men’s final ceremony. The arrangement was performed at Arthur Ashe Stadium by Will Liverman, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and musicians of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

Conceptual Band | Brass Band

A six-piece brass band I founded in New York in 2015, blending jazz, American roots music, and an irreverent sense of fun. The Doggy Cats performed regularly at Sunny’s Bar in Brooklyn and at events including the Keyport Music Festival in New Jersey.

Music Arrangement | Collaboration

A collection of posters and graphic works I have created over the years for my own concerts, bands, exhibitions, and other projects. Together they form a visual archive of my music and art, combining illustration, typography, humor, and my personal design language.
